In a precarious situation? Give us a shout

Big Rig Towing isn’t always called out to highway accidents where wreckage is strewn all over and a broken rig needs uprighting or towing. Sometimes it’s just a large piece of heavy equipment that has ended up in trouble.

You can never be too careful when using heavy machinery in unfamiliar or rugged terrain. This overturned steel loader took a tumble in an out-of-the-way location. Oftentimes the recovery is more about the logistics of lifting heavy machinery that has flipped over after an incident than about hooking it up. Using our 75-ton sliding rotator, and by attaching a heavy-duty sling to the equipment, with a few safety adjustments we solved the issue and got it back on its feet and back on the job.

Big Rig Towing can do more than just tow your distressed rig or your heavy equipment. We have a solid reputation for doing heavy lifting and moving. If you find yourself in a disabled or precarious situation give Big Rig Towing a shout. To reach us toll free, call 1 (866) 398-7444. We offer 24/7 dispatch service.

This May Long Weekend will look a little different

With the Victoria Day Weekend approaching, there are still many public health restrictions in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and many businesses and services will be closed.

Unfortunately it won’t be May long weekend cottage life and camping as usual either as all National and Alberta parks are closed to visitors and Parks Canada is recommending to ‘stay home’. If you are planning on heading out, be sure to check your local area rules and regulations beforehand.

Highways through National parks will remain open which means that there will be drivers on the road, particularly our hardworking truckers delivering essential goods, and unfortunately there will still be breakdowns and accidents. Big Rig Towing & Recovery will continue to deliver “critical” services on our highways. If you find yourself in need of rescue, we can be reached 24/7 at 1 (866) 398-7444.

Even though our weekend dreams may be dashed, it’s important to remember that these circumstances aren’t forever. There will be many more long weekends ahead to enjoy when safe to do so, and with everyone working together to get through this, hopefully that time isn’t in the too distant future. Let’s do our part and make the best of our uncertain times.

Have a safe and relaxing long weekend.

We are surrounded by COVID-19 reminders

With near daily reminders about the challenges of COVID-19, even though they are well-meaning messages, they can become exhausting. That said, the COVID-19 virus and infected carriers could be anywhere. Better we continue to think ahead about the actions we can take to stay healthy and prevent the spread of this illness, don’t you think?

If we all do our part and continue to follow the experts’ recommendations, our “new normal” has the potential to help us get through this health challenge more quickly. Read COVID-19 Workplace Tips for Employees for the right information about healthy habits to follow.
