In an emergency? Need a tow truck rotator?

A tow truck rotator is essentially a big crane mounted to the deck of the tow truck. It can be used for everything from:

  • lifting heavy machinery that has tumbled from the back of a rig
  • lifting a load that has flipped over
  • removing a load from a rig that needs less weight so it can be towed
  • lifting heavy equipment from one place to another
  • assisting in transferring cargo from one rig to another
  • And so much more…

Big Rig Towing has a number of rotator tow trucks and can boast that they have the only 75 ton rotator in southern Alberta. An expert rotator operator can make all the difference in getting your towing situation resolved quickly and safely.

We pull our fair share of hapless rigs and heavy equipment from any number of situations.

Keep Big Rig’s number – 1 (866) 398-7444 – on hand and call for IMMEDIATE 24/7 service if you find yourself in a precarious situation.

Crane Rescue

Winter road conditions can get pretty sketchy!

It’s only a matter of time before winter rolls in to stay for awhile and as Canadians we all know that winter weather can be a challenge to negotiate out on the highway.

Sometimes it is almost impossible to see where the road ends and the ditch begins. Add blowing snow to the mix and the situation can get pretty sketchy in a split second. Under extreme conditions it is a testament to the drivers of big rigs that more don’t end up in the ditch.

When temperatures go below -30 ending up in the ditch, whether its day or night, presents a whole new set of problems. Not just for the driver of the rig, but for the tow truck operators as well. Keeping warm and safe while working with thousands of pounds of frozen steel is a difficult process. Because the human body is mostly made up of water and we know that water freezes at -32C, getting stuck in the ditch on a -40 night becomes more of a rescue than a tow.

Anywhere, any time, Big Rig Towing & Recovery is available 24-7 to service all of your heavy duty towing and recovery requirements.

Cold Storage Rollover

It’s always good to keep your meat cold to prevent it from spoiling, but a rollover in cold temperatures is definitely not the ideal way to preserve it! When this rig rolled over some of the load scattered and not long after Big Rig Towing was onsite to right the rig and rescue what was left of the valuable cargo.

Vehicle rollovers can be one of the most frightening accidents and can happen in the blink of an eye. Fortunately in this case the best news is that no one was hurt in the mishap.

Big Rig Towing & Recovery works with highly qualified and certified technicians and are reliable and experienced. If you find yourself in a roadside emergency, give us a call TOLL FREE AT 1 (866) 398-7444. We’re available 24/7.
