Towing & recovery services when you need them most

At Big Rig Towing, we’re equipped to handle a wide range of towing and recovery situations. From overturned trailers to heavy equipment breakdowns, we have the tools and experience necessary to get the job done quickly and safely.

However, it’s important to remember that not all vehicles are made to tow. Attempting to tow a vehicle or object that exceeds your vehicle’s towing capacity can be dangerous and result in serious damage or injury. That’s why it’s always best to hire a professional towing service like Big Rig Towing. Our team is trained to properly assess the situation and determine the best towing method to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

In addition to safety concerns, there are also legal considerations when it comes to towing. Different jurisdictions may have different laws and regulations regarding towing, including weight restrictions, equipment requirements, and licensing.

At Big Rig Towing, we stay up-to-date on all local and national regulations to ensure that we’re operating within the law at all times. We take pride in our commitment to safety and compliance, and we’re always happy to answer any questions you may have about the towing process.

While we’re capable of towing almost anything that will move, it’s important to exercise caution and hire a professional towing service when necessary. If you find yourself in an unstable, dangerous, or difficult emergency situation, give us a call toll-free at (866) 398-7444. We’re available 24/7 to provide fast, reliable towing and recovery services when you need them most.

Not every job is a complicated hookup or rotator-coordinated event

Not all Big Rig Towing jobs are the recovery of crashed or stuck rigs. Sometimes it’s as simple as a big, unexpected wet and heavy snowfall.

When a parked rig has a large accumulation of snow on its roof you can’t just take off down the road. If you do, and the truck gets up to speed, a few hundred pounds of that wet, heavy snow could fly off and cause serious damage to the vehicles following, or worse, send a trailing vehicle into an oncoming lane. Definitely not a desired situation.

Not all solutions have to be complicated hookups or rotator-coordinated events either. This snow removal campaign was remedied by hooking up a volunteer shoveller to the rotator and hoisting them on top of the rig to get rid of its snowy burden.

Be proactive – take note of Big Rig’s toll free number (866) 398-7444

It’s only a matter of time before winter rolls in to stay for awhile and as Canadians we all know that winter weather can be a challenge to negotiate out on the highway.

Sometimes it is almost impossible to see where the road ends and the ditch begins. Add blowing snow to the mix and the situation can get pretty sketchy in a split second. Under extreme conditions it is a testament to the drivers of big rigs that more don’t end up in the ditch.

When temperatures go below -30 ending up in the ditch, whether its day or night, presents a whole new set of problems. Not just for the driver of the rig, but for the tow truck operators as well. Keeping warm and safe while working with thousands of pounds of frozen steel is a difficult process. Because the human body is mostly made up of water and we know that water freezes at -32C, getting stuck in the ditch on a -40 night becomes more of a rescue than a tow.

The temperatures haven’t dipped that low yet, but why not be proactive and take note of Big Rig’s toll free number (866) 398-7444. Anywhere, any time, we’re available 24/7 to service all of your heavy duty towing and recovery requirements.

When your home away from home breaks down

Recreational vehicles are the perfect way to get away from it all. These days big Class A motor home RVs are like tiny houses. Generally if well maintained they rarely break down, but they are motorized vehicles and despite your best planning and preparation for camping and life in the great outdoors, there will be occasional times that operating issues will occur.

When your home away from home is on wheels and it breaks down, you want to make sure you get someone who has experience towing these types of oversized vehicles — that is, the right company for the job. Fortunately, Big Rig Towing has had lots of practice towing this type of motor home.

If you find yourself in a stressful situation call 1 (866) 398-7444 for 24/7 service.

In the meantime, remember to take extra precautions when you’re broken down on the side of the road — stay calm and stay safe while you’re awaiting our arrival.

Unfortunate meltdown!

No matter how careful we try to be, accidents happen. When it’s a big rig travelling with a heavy load at great speeds on the highway it can make for an unpleasant disaster. While this may not look like much more than a simple rollover, this rig was carrying thousands of popsicles when it went off the road and tipped over!

The good news in this accident is that the driver wasn’t hurt (unbelievably) but can’t say the same for the popsicles on board. Heatwave or no heatwave frozen popsicles on a stick will never survive!

If your rig has had an unfortunate rollover and needs to be up-righted, it’s time to call Big Rig Towing – always prepared for the challenge of a big rig rescue and recovery.

At Big Rig Towing we don’t tow cars, but we do extract and tow or transport heavy equipment and other heavy objects that require rescue.

Zoom boom trouble!

“A Zoom Boom, or telescopic lift truck, is a powered industrial truck used to lift and move materials short distances. It falls under the same training requirements as a lift truck or forklift, and it has lift capacities ranging from 5,500 to 12,000 lbs and can reach heights up to 55 feet.”

Even the best, reliable, high-performance equipment can get stuck up to its axles in wet soft ground after heavy rains. That’s exactly what occurred in this Zoom boom situation in a residential area in the image below.

It is inevitable that inconveniences will happen in the world of heavy equipment and unstable weather. If it happens to you Big Rig Towing & Recovery is here to help. We’re available 24/7 to service all of your heavy duty towing and recovery requirements. Just call 1 (866) 398-7444 and we’ll come to the rescue!

Not a rig but need a tow?

You’d be surprised what Big Rig Towing & Recovery can tow!

Towing is the process of coupling one object to another, so that one can be pulled along behind the other. The towing source (lead object) is usually a truck or other motorized land vehicle. The coupling may consist of a chain, rope, bar, integrated platform, or some other means of keeping the two objects together while in motion. – Wikipedia

Big Rig Towing often has to make use of its 75-ton rotator to lift overturned trailers and many other heavy objects related to rig accidents. So that being said, not just cars and trucks can be towed, but almost anything that will move can be towed.

Remember though, that not all vehicles are made to tow and the safety considerations of properly towing another vehicle or object cannot be understated. When in doubt, hire a professional.
