Don’t Upset the Apple Cart

Don't Upset the Apple CartThis may not look like much more than a simple roll over but this rig was carrying thousands of fresh apples when it went off the road and tipped over.

Big Rig Towing up righted the tractor and trailer using airbags and heavy cranes but this load got more than its ego bruised in the process.

Looks like someone better make a couple of thousand apple pies in a hurry.

Holy Cow

You can never be too careful when negotiating a corner especially when carrying a load of cows.
Righting this rig with the rotator wasn’t the tricky part of this recovery, unloading and managing a herd of cows however was a whole other kind of recovery.
All’s well that ends well as the noisy bovines were transferred to another cattle carrier and Big Rig Towing hauled the ditched rig back onto the road.

Heavy Load

You know something is heavy when you have to use air bags just to get it moving in the right direction.

This rig had 47,000 lbs. on board when it went over.

Big Rig Towing used airbags and the cranes to get it back on its rubber.

Meat Packing

When 60000 lbs of meat go bad it really goes bad.

Fortunately no one was injured in this roll over but Big Rig had to use a number of tools in its arsenal to recover and right this rig.

With a little help from friends in the field the truck was soon righted and sent on its way for repair.

Fixed Boom Rollover

Fixed Boom Rollover

Another weather related rollover. This time near Vulcan, Alberta. Big Rig towing righted this stiff boom crane and sent it on its way to Red Deer for repairs. All without the help of Mr. Spock. Just the great crew at Big Rig and our boom crane.

Towing the Big Stuff

Have you finally gotten around to getting that old chunk of metal out of the backyard?

How we’re not suggesting that you have a locomotive stashed in your backyard but you might have an old motor home or a big trailer that is going to take more than a regular tow to get it gone.

At Big Rig Towing.com we have the men and the machinery to handle anything bigger than your average car safely and securely.

It might not be the hobby train set you thought you could get back running again, but if your rig is broken down or you have an old motor home that won’t get to the wreckers by itself, give us a call and get it towed by experts.

Ok, we have never towed a train but we have towed some rigs that were just as big.

Tilt

photo 1How many trucks get stuck in the ditch every year because they failed to negotiate a corner correctly or under estimate the steepness of the curb?

That would be an interesting statistic. I would think that cornering and knowing your environment would be the most important part of a big rig driving test. Surely you need to be able to know these things to get hired to drive one of these big trucks.

This flat bed was transporting a farm sprayer when it pulled over to let a car pass. A couple more inches and this would have been a roll over

Big Rig Towing pulls its fair share of hapless rigs and their helpless cargo from many a ditch in southern Alberta.

The only good thing about so much practice is you got to get good at something you do so often.
